Workshops
T'ai-Chi:
In this workshop you will learn basic exercises, principles, and some postures of the Solo Form. You will also be introduced to Pushing Hands (sensitivity) exercises.
Ben Fusaro learned T'ai-chi Ch'uan in 1964 and soon after taught it informally at the University of South Florida. He introduced credit courses at Queens College, North Carolina and Salisbury State University, Maryland, from which he retired in 1996. Ben has given workshops at dance and psychology conferences, Elderhostels, and martial arts studios.
Connect with your Spirit -- Mask Making:
Unleash your creative spirit through the tactile experience of mask making. Get in touch with the collective unconscious, and discover the person behind the mask. See yourself from a new perspective. Who are we really?
Yvonne Tucker, artist and teacher for nearly three decades, is internationally known for her works in Afro-Raku, an art form that evolved out of the dynamic synergy of Zen Buddhist and African traditions of ceramic art. She currently teaches at Florida A&M University and Lemoyne Art Foundation, where her and her husband's works have been on exhibit. (Workshop limited to 12 participants.)
Lifestories -- Invitation to the Muse:
We all have stories inside us waiting for expression. Enjoy a creative and relaxing afternoon of strolling through your life with pen and notebook. Take home seeds for future writings.
Instructor: Katya Taylor, M.Ed., has been writing seriously in notebooks since age fifteen, and she especially enjoys creating anthologies of people who write together.
Continuum Movement
Continuum is a self-directed process of discovery using breath, sound, and movement as the access to this new and rich inquiry. By shifting our awareness to the perspective that we are mostly water, movement has a possibility to be awakened to its nature of wave motion. This class will include verbal introduction and demonstration of breath, sound, and movement ideas, with time to explore and experience for oneself. Music is used to assist in sustaining the movement environment.
Anne Clothiaux is an authorized Continuum Movement teacher. She has worked for over a decade with neurologically impaired young people as a physical therapist and has held a great curiosity about alternative approaches to health, healing, and self-awareness.
Make Friends with Your Vehicle:
Make friends with your vehicle! With the help of metaphor and a live car we compare the human body to the different automotive systems and learn the basics on how these systems function and how they are interrelated.
Irwin Friedman has been a shade tree mechanic for thirty years and has been teaching at Full Flower for fourteen years.
