“When two or more voices come together to sing, it's as if the angels begin to dance cheek to cheek. Singing with other human beings is glorious, healing, and FUN! Freeing and balancing the voice has a powerful impact on freeing and balancing our lives. In my 15 years as a voice teacher/healer I have witnessed this on many occasions."
Southern Springs once again is bringing Amy Fradon, a talented musician and voice workshop facilitator, to Tallahassee. In this Harmony Singing Workshop, Amy and friends will take you through the basics of harmony singing, such as vocal blend, intervals, pronunciation, parallel harmony singing, and how to produce a strong and present sound. Amy, Vickie, and Amanda will demonstrate and lead the class in harmony singing. You will never be put on the spot, but always encouraged to take risks. Any level of ability is welcome in this safe and nonjudgmental atmosphere. Bring water to sip and a notebook if you wish to take notes.
On Thursday, May 10, Amy will perform with her band at the Warehouse on Gaines Street. Amy has been a professional singer/songwriter and teacher of voice and the healing art of sound for over 15 years. She has recorded eight albums, including her first solo collection of songs, entitled Passion Angel, released in 1999, and another solo CD soon to be released. She has sung with numerous artists, including Rick Danko, Maria Muldaur, John Sebastian, Livingston Taylor, Dr. John, and Orleans. Amy has toured extensively in the U.S., England, Scotland, Germany, and the Czech Republic. She is the founder of the Vocal Visionary Training Program, which is a journey of self-discovery through singing.
Last May, Amy and her band gave a stunning performance here, with precision instrumentation and inspiring harmonies. Amy and her band are wonderfully energizing and entertaining, so make the time to come out and hear them on May 10. You won’t regret it!
